Monthly NetworkingPlanetwork connects a network of people and projects consciously using information technology and the Internet to create a truly democratic, ecologically sane and socially just future. We host monthly gatherings in San Francisco and a growing number of other cities listed here on the left. These informal events are designed to allow a growing community to connect and keep up with each other’s work. The format is generally a series of up to seven very brief project presentations selected from submissions made over previous months. Each presenter gets 1 minute to describe their personal motivation, 5 minutes to give an overview of their work, and 2 minutes for questions. See individual locations at left for each upcoming month's line up. And the links for individual cities under archive for lists of past months events by date at that location. Presenting Your ProjectAnybody who attends a monthly gathering and is working on either developing software which could be used for social networking or in other ways to address the worlds problems, or who is using any form of digital media or communication technology to work for ecological and/or social benefit is eligible to sign up to present. Each roster is handled on a first come, first served basis, though exceptions may occasionally be granted for out of town visitors. You may apply to present at an upcoming Planetwork monthly here. Mailing ListsEmail notifications about the monthly networking meetings and general information are broadcast through the Planetwork mailing list. You may use the Login button on the left to choose your free @planetwork i-name and then select the mailing lists you wish to be on. |
