May 2000 Conference Schedule

PLANETWORK will be an unprecedented gathering of people from a wide variety of disciplines and vocations: science, technology, activism, business and the arts. Our intention is to create a forum where people from distinctly different backgrounds can meet, inspire each other, and find common ground.

This conference will explore how the creative application of digital tools - scientific visualization, interactive databases, GIS based systems and computational modeling, among others, as well as the Internet itself - can open up new possibilities for environmental activism and positive global change.

On Friday onsite registration will open at 2:00 pm at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio. There will be a brief opening welcome at 3:00 pm for those wishing to gather for the afternoon sessions, tutorials, website presentations, and networking. Following a dinner break the formal opening session will start at 7:30pm.

On Saturday & Sunday registration will open at 8:00 am, and morning sessions will commence at 9:00 am. There will be concurrent morning sessions in the three main ballrooms, followed by a lunch break with food available for purchase on-site. The afternoon will consist of more interactive sessions concluding at 6:00 pm. Saturday evening there will be a reception, and later in the evening PlanetaryJamSpace, a dance party for the diehards. The conference will conclude with a closing ceremony at 6:00 pm on Sunday.
